Dental Dam
A Dental Dam is basically a small sheet of latex, which
acts as a barrier between the vagina or anus and the mouth.
They are an extremely effective means of preventing infection
from bodily fluids. These should be used if having oral sex
on a female (cunnilingus) and for sucking the rectum, or rimming
(analingus) with a male or female partner.
A dental dam is basically a square of latex and can be made by
snipping off the end of a condom and cutting it up one side. (Do
not use pre-lubricated, spermicidal coated condoms for this, as
they taste unpleasant). Dental dams can also be bought already
made.
When using the dental dam, always ensure that only one side
of the dental dam comes into contact with the genitals. and do not
use them more than once. By using the dental dam, you are protecting
yourself from STIs such as Syphilis, Herpes Simplex and Gonorrhoea.
Again use water based
lubricant if needed, as oil based will damage the dental dam.
